It was not Aspen back then but is was Gar Wood's Bayview Lodge. Nestled on the banks of Belvedre Bay, Gar Woods entertained guest by land and lake until October 18, 2002. That winter we spent 6 months cutting the building into about 70 pieces and reconstructing it at our present location on Hall Road in Macomb Township. The grand re-opening was March 28, 2003 and Aspen has celebrated its new home in the heart of Macomb County every year since. If you look around you can still see reminders of Aspen's roots as Gar Wood's and life on the bay.
